I am a physiological plant ecologist with research interests in plant carbon allocation, growth analysis, modeling, and sustainability. I am a Professor of Biology, a faculty member in the Environmental Studies Program, and currently serve as Registrar and Associate Dean of Curriculum.
I enjoy working with students in the classroom and on research and applied projects. I have received the Underkofler Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and served as co-Principal Investigator of the Pathways to Sustainability Leadership Program and Director of the Sustainability Fellows Program.
I invite students to meet with me to talk about biology, environmental studies, campus trees, native plants, career plans, and whatever else is on their minds. In my role as Registrar, I often meet with student for a “degree audit” to determine what graduation requirements they have met.
